Description

Built on the ruins of an abandoned colonial house from the late 19th century, Casa Lohr explores the dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary. A guiding axis frames each space and reveals the home's historical layers; the covered terrace opens onto a ruined wall that articulates the views toward the central patio, pool and terrace. Raw materials — burnished white cement, stone recovered on site, pasta-tile floors and exposed joist ceilings — give the house its character, while an outdoor jacuzzi in the rear patio closes the sequence. Award-winning architecture, published on Architizer.
